Starting Character (Level 1)
At Level 1, characters can be very competent but have "unawakened" potential at other things.
Attributes: 12 Points to distribute (Max +3 in any one stat).
Defects: characters may improve up to two attributes by taking a defect
Origin: + 1 to one of the three attributes recommended
Starter Talents: You begin with Talents that you qualify for (must meet Attribute requirement).
Starter Proficiencies: You begin with 3 Skills you are Proficient at.
Starter Powers: If your Origin or backstory allows, you begin with two Minor Powers.
Talent Points (TP) and Levels
To make WaySpace feel rewarding over a long campaign, we use a 10-Level Progression System. In this system, players earn Progression Points (PP). These points are the currency used to buy both Talents (passive/specialized) and Powers (active/stress-costing).
Spending Your Progression Points (PP)
When you earn a PP, you can choose how to develop your character's "Way."
Important: You can only buy a Talent if you meet the Attribute requirement (+2, +4, or +6).
1 PP = One Tier 1 Talent.
1 PP = One Proficiency
1 PP = One Moderate Power.
1 PP = Two Minor Powers.
2 PP = One Tier 2 Talent.
2 PP = One Expert level in a Proficiency
2 PP = One Major Power.
3 PP = One Tier 3 Talent.
